Well, it’s been some time since we have had a chance to update the recent news due to the fact we’ve been crazy busy. Let me see if I can summarize the last few months.
We have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with two national acts. We opened for Cheap Trick at the WMMO Downtown Concert series. We also opened for Warrant to kick off Bike Week 2009. Then we plunged into a 9 day Bike Week tour.
The Daytona 500 was next and then the Leesburg Bikefest… After the dust settled we’ve been playing dates at the amazing Liam Fitazpatrick’s in Lake Mary and debuted at Dexter’s in Winter Park. The weekend of July 17th will always be remembered by us and those who were there to experience it. Pat Travers joined us on stage and Dexter’s in
Winter Park was so crowded, the fire dept showed up… One for the bucket list for sure. We also wanted to send a special shout out to Logan Belle, Tony Visconti and Rene Otero for helping us out. All I can say is that you never know what’s going to happen at one of our shows. So, take our advice and don’t miss one!
December was another amazing month for us. We started the month with an incredible Private Event and then a weekend at Liam’s Fitzpatrick’s. The crowds were amazing at Liam’s a
nd we look forward to going back later in the year. The pinnacle of December was opening the WMMO concert series for Cheap Trick. Looking out into thousands of people and seeing Iced Down T’s being donned and our local Fans who were in the VIP section (The Seabreeze Faithful) was truly humbling. We hope you all enjoyed that experience as much as we did! Pictures are up and we are working on
Video’s from that event so
keep checking the website for updates. The month ended with Private New Year’s Eve gig. Channel 6 news anchor Bob Frier joined us on stage to sing a few songs and helped us ring in the New Year. We look forward to 2009 and come and see us in Daytona for the 500 and Bike Week!
We Rested!
October was so crazy that you will have to look hard to find us in November! We are chillin! Iced Down played two weekends at Pub 44 in New Smyrna Beach for Biketoberfest
(with Beaver and Shawn each coming home with brand new tattoos!) Thanks go out to our old friends and some new ones who came out to see us. Also, we wanted to thank Tony for sitting in on guitar this month —Special props to Seebreeze High School’s Class of 1984! We were back at Fiddler’s Green the following
weekend for a more
mellow Friday night, then closed the month out at Liam Fitzpatricks’ for an unbelievable Halloween party. Wow....some of the pictures from that night just didn’t make it to the website! The band had a great time and we think you all did too! You all made this our best month EVER!
September started with an amazing weekend at Liam Fitzpatrick's. We added a few more ne
w tunes and broke out some 3 Doors Down for the first time. Saturday was even crazier than Friday, w
e had a few Special Guests show up and join us on stage... some were invited and some weren't "You had to be there" ;-). Our invited special guests, Channel 6 Anchor Bob Frier came up and sang a few song then Jamie Barker joined us and did an amazing Harmonica Solo! After that, Shawn a
nd Steve started playing a Dual Drum Solo on Shawn's kit...it was amazing! That's what I love about this band....you
never know what's going to happen from night to night. So, don't miss out and come see at PUB 44 in New Smyrna for Biketoberfest. BTW Daniel You Rock on the Bass and can join us on stage anytime!
Looking back on our last
days of summer, August was a big month for us. We headed over to the beach for a weekend at the Daytona Mai Tai’s.
As all of us had ties to the area, so it was really cool to have some of our hometown friends get to come see “Iced Down Live”. Look for us to be back at Biketoberfest the weekend of October 16, 17, and 18 times and stage to be announced.
We played our first full weekend of many at Liam Fitzpatrick’s on July 18th and 19th—
look ahead for our future
weekends all the way through December. We were psyched to see that our following seemed to enjoy the new songs we played—“Wanted Dead or Alive” closed out the second set with a BANG—check out the photos of our dancers and see you next week at Cranes Roost Park!
June 2008 has ROCKED! We opened for Eddie Money and The Spin Doctors at the WMMO Downtown Concert on the 14th. We had a great time starting off the evening and firing up the crowd. From the front row dancers to the cheers on Church Street, we appreciated all of our fans coming out to see us—hopefully this will be the first of many community events.
Last Saturday, the 21st we played an encore night at Liam Fitzpatrick’s Pub in Heathrow. We had to turn down the amps a little from the weekend before, but we played to the rafters and broke out a few new covers. Check out our gallery in a few days and maybe you’ll see some of your friends!
Our own Beaver Felton was featured this week in the Orlando Sentinel’s FORUM magazine. Look for this cover story at Forum news boxes downtown. Sorry Richie—you didn’t make the picture—you must have been running through the audience or playing on a table!
The month of May went out with a bang with us back at Fiddlers Green on Friday the 30th and Saturady the 31st. Earlier this month, we were excited to experience a beautiful new venue, Liam Fitzpatrick's in Heathrow. The crowd was great and we really enjoyed getting to be one of the first Rock Bands to light up their dance floor. Check out our gallery for pics!
